Join us for the 2025 Johnstown BBQ Day

Saturday, June 7th

We will be offering several opportunities to learn more about the history of Johnstown. We hope to see you there!

Museum Tours

9am – 11am

Location: 701 Charlotte Street

Cost: FREE!

Stop in at the Historic Parish House and Museum to tour the former home of the Harvey and Mary Parish family, as well as see our exciting exhibits…including the famous meteorite crash of 1924! The house is only accessible by a flight of stairs, but our Visitor’s Center features a short film of the home’s interior and collections for those who cannot take the stairs.

Horse-Drawn Wagon

11:30am – 2:30pm

Location: Wagon Loading at
intersection of Columbine & Charlotte

Cost: FREE!

Hitch a ride in a horse-drawn wagon for a tour of Old Town Johnstown to learn more about the historic homes and buildings along Charlotte Street. The wagon will begin giving tours starting at 11:30am. If a wagon ride isn’t your thing, you can venture out on your own to do our historical walking tour. More information on that can be found here.

Johnstown Historical Postcards

Price: $10 donation (set of 6)

These postcards are brand new, and making their debut on BBQ Day! We will have a variety of sets available for purchase. Each set includes six 4×6 postcards printed on premium paper and feature some of our favorite photos from our archives. If you aren’t attending BBQ Day, you can also order here.

Meteorite Centennial Commemorative Coins

Price: $10 donation (per coin)

These coins were created in 2024 for the Meteorite Centennial celebration to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the 1924 meteorite landing. They are still available for purchase while supplies last! If you aren’t attending BBQ Day, you can also order here.

Letford Elementary School Bricks

Price: $25 donation (per brick)

For 70 years, generations of Johnstown residents attended Letford Elementary School. The final group of students to attend left the building on May 26, 2002, and the old school was demolished in the spring of 2023. Buy a piece of Letford Elementary to keep in your home, or give as a gift, to keep local history alive. If you aren’t attending BBQ Day, you can also order here.
