The Johnstown Breeze Digitization Community Project

A cropped photo of the front page of The Johnstown Breeze newspaper from May 30, 2002 featuring Ardis Briggs-Tomlinson as Centennial Citizen with a photo of her standing in front the Historic Parish House and Museum.

For over 120 years, The Johnstown Breeze has captured the heart and history of our town. Now, the Johnstown Historical Society, in partnership with The Breeze and the Colorado Historic Newspaper Collection (CHNC), is working to digitize the full archive. This project will ensure that the Town of Johnstown’s stories, milestones, and memories are fully preserved in a free online searchable database for future generations to access.

Your support for this project is needed! Every gift makes a difference.

Cemetery Crawl

Always held the last Saturday in October
The 2025 Cemetery Crawl was an incredible one-of-a-kind event! Attendees met Johnstown residents both past and present in a historically haunting cemetery tour of the Johnstown Cemetery. It was the perfect way to experience Johnstown’s vibrant history and the remarkable figures who helped shape it. We hope you’ll join us again in 2026.
