We invite our community to help us make the 50th Anniversary Edition exceptional. It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words. Do you have any photos from 1977 to present day that show the essence of Johnstown in some way at the time? Would you like to have them considered for inclusion in the book?

Submitting your photos is easy!

If your photos are already in digital format and ready to upload, you can simply attach them in the space provided in the form below.
- Don’t have a digital copy of your printed photographs? We are happy to help! Stop by the Parish House during open hours (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM), and we can scan your photographs for you. If you have a large collection to share, please Connect With Us in advance to schedule an appointment so we can plan the best way to assist you.
For each photograph, please be prepared to share any details you have, including who or what is pictured, where the photo was taken, and the approximate date it was taken.

About The Book

A Tribute To Johnstown : 50th Anniversary Edition

Originally published in 1976 for America’s Bicentennial, this little book made its way into the hearts of Johnstown’s approximate 1,300 residents. They sold fast, and when they were gone, there were no reprints. The book is a compilation of local history, statistics, people and families, the schools, churches, businesses, industry, community clubs, and more.

The JHS is bringing it back in a commemorative 50th anniversary edition this year. The new edition will preserve the original content, as well as add new content including new historical research, photographs and stories. It will also reflect on the past five decades of change and growth in Johnstown while highlighting connections between Johnstown’s history and the broader American and Colorado stories.
