History with a Haunting Twist! The Johnstown Cemetery Crawl is a one-of-a-kind guided walking tour through the Johnstown Cemetery where history comes to life among the gravestones. Attendees encounter costumed characters who share the eerie tales, forgotten stories, and fascinating lives of the people who once walked our streets.

This event is open to the public. We hope you’ll join us for an entertaining mix of slightly spooky educational fun!

About The Event

This spooktacular event is a fun way to learn about Johnstown’s history and the people who went down in it!

Cemeteries are more than resting places. Indeed, they’re silent storytellers holding the memories of a community’s growth, struggles, and triumphs. With that in mind, help us honor the past as our cast of local characters uncovers the stories beneath our feet. Through this journey, you’ll experience an immersive historical event that features both local legends and everyday residents who helped shape our community. Ultimately, history speaks through our cast and the silence of the grave.

Register : Registration is now closed until October 2026. In order to ensure an enjoyable and engaging experience, and due to the event’s popularity, each tour has a guest limit. Therefore, make sure to secure your spot early, as they fill up quickly.

Attire : Costumes are welcome! However, we recommend wearing comfortable shoes and bringing warmer items (jacket, gloves, hat) just in case. The cemetery is well-shaded, so it can be a bit chilly in late October.

Restrooms : Portable restrooms will be available on-site for attendees.

Parking : Attendants will direct you to the event parking inside the cemetery along the northern edge of the grounds. Please follow any signage and our volunteers’ instructions to ensure smooth and safe parking for all attendees.

Check-In : Please check-in at the JHS table located just inside the cemetery entrance. Here you can also make a donation and browse our Commemorative Keepsakes.

Accessibility : Most of the tour stops are accessible and follow along the cemetery roadways; however, some stops are within the grassy areas, yet are navigable for guests with mobility aids.
