In addition to financial contributions, we consider donations of historically significant items that help us preserve and share the rich history of Johnstown. Personal artifacts, family heirlooms, photographs, letters, and other primary sources are essential to building exhibits, expanding our archives, and bringing the past to life.

What We Accept

We’re especially interested in items that:

  • Reflect the everyday life, culture, and events of our local community
  • Relate to significant historical moments, industries, or individuals
  • Include clear information about origin, ownership, or context
  • Can help enhance existing exhibits or inspire new ones

Before You Donate

To ensure we can properly preserve and care for your items, all potential donations must go through a review process. Please do not bring items to the museum or archive without first contacting us.

Donation vs Sponsorship

Donations support our general fund, and are used where they are most needed to further our mission. Sponsorships, by contrast, allow supporters to designate their contribution toward a specific project, program, artifact, or initiative and offer corresponding recognition and benefits.
